OSS Standing Committee

The OSS Standing Committee was established in 2008. This committee was previously known as the OSS Workgroup is located within the Government Information Technology Officers Council.This special group was delegated to ensure the successful execution of work by the FPO and ensure that important FOSS projects are implemented. This is the link between the FPO and its stakeholders. Most decisions and proposals are carried out on this standing committee.

DG FOSS Steering Committee

DG FOSS Steering Committee was established in order to:

• Promote free and open source software, open standards and open content implementation within Government
• Monitor implementation of Cabinet decisions on FOSS, open standards and open content and report back on progress.

         2. Science and Technology
         3. Communications
         4. Education
         5. Trade and Industry
         6. Home Affairs

• Chief Executive Officers of:

         1. CSIR
         2. SITA

• Government Chief Information Officer.
• Chair: GITOC OSS Standing Committee.
